  • Churchmouse Yarns & Teas Baby Washcloth or Blanket with Laura Beard

    $50 for two weeks (supplies not included)

    Beginners are welcome in this intro to diagonal washcloth or blanket (the same technique can be used for a shawl, too) knitting. We will complete a washcloth together and begin the blanket. Students will have the skills to complete the blanket on their own after completing the small washcloth version. The picot edge is optional (though very pretty!). Wool or cotton yarn is best. This pattern is written for multiple gauges so youll have some options when it comes to yarn. Some of our favorites for this are: Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton or Classic Elite Seedling (for the worsted version). Butterly 10 Cotton, Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, Rowan Creative Linen, Rowan Softknit Cotton (for the dk version).

  • Introduction to Intarsia with Melanie Snellings

    Learn to knit with color using a different technique than stranding: intarsia. This two-week class will explore the basics or intarsia focusing on straight lines in the first week and playing with basic geometric shapes in teh second week. The project in the first class will be a washcloth of two or three colors (or for those who would like a longer project, a scarf). The second class will continue with the small format of the washcloth for creating shapes in color. If time allows, we will play with multiple bobbins or butterflies, shapes and colors. Patterns for washcloths and scarf will be provided in class.
